Overview
Precedent search for markets, for programs and agents. Bring a moment and read the past moments most like it, each with what was knowable then and what happened after.
The one rule
Point-in-time by construction. A question about a moment returns only what had closed or been published by that moment. What followed is labelled as having followed, and never mixed into what was known. A past moment becomes an answer only once its 32 hours after have closed.
It answers what happened. There is no forecast, no score, no direction and no signal — not as a policy about wording, but because none is computed.
Two ways in, one meter
HTTP. priorcase.com/v1, a bearer token, JSON back. The reference is drawn from the engine's own description of itself, so it cannot describe a version that is not running.
MCP. The same four questions as an agent's tools, over the same key, reaching the same endpoints. How to connect.
What every response keeps to
- Before holds only what was knowable at the moment. After starts at the moment.
- A past moment is returned only once its 32 hours after have closed before the query.
- A window must cover the time it claims. One drawn across a stretch the market was shut is refused, on both sides of the search.
- No direction, probability or action fields. Every response carries the disclaimer.
- Times are UTC, ISO 8601. Events carry their source.
Where to start
Quickstart takes a key and makes one call. Authentication says what a key is and what a refusal means. Limits and errors says what is counted and what comes back when something runs out.
A program reading this rather than a person: priorcase.com/llms.txt is the same thing in one file, and priorcase.com/openapi.json is the machine-readable spec.
