Reading the screen
The terminal answers one question. What happened after moments that looked like this one. Every pane, mark and control on it is a piece of that answer. Here is each one, named once.
The terminal
The numbers are only here. On screen each pane carries its name, and the order below is the order a first look reads them in, which is not the order they sit in.
- 1Earlier picksThe last few hours, one block per five minutes. Each block is the closest past moment the engine found at that time. Its colour is what followed, an hour out.
- 2When it looked like thisThe chart. The thick line is now. The dashed lines are the precedents, each drawn from its own T.
- 3What happened nextWhere those precedents went after their own T. The tilt first, then the figures a picture cannot carry.
- 4PrecedentsThe moments the search returned, one tile each. Hover lights a line. Press keeps it lit.
- 5The listThe same moments as rows. A smaller
distanceis a closer match. ← → steps through them. - 6NowThe regime this moment is in. Direction over eight weeks, and how rough the week has been against its own history.
- 7This oneOne precedent, large, with what stood beside it then.
- 8The market then, and nowWhat else was moving. The other assets at that past moment, and today.
- 9Released after itScheduled releases that fell inside that window.
Panes 5 to 9 are the full view. Lite keeps the first four. The tilt, the picture, and the eight.
Marks on the chart
- Thick lineNow. This is the only line drawn from live prices.
- CandlesNow again, bar by bar, where the data carries a high and a low. Filled fell, hollow rose.
- Dashed linesThe precedents. Each sits at zero on its own T, so they can be read against each other.
- T and nowT is the moment asked about.
nowis how far the live price has reached since. - Bars belowVolume, as a multiple of what is normal for that moment.
×1.0is an ordinary bar for it, not a fixed amount. - Shaded bandHow far inside a bar the price went. A close alone says where a bar ended and nothing about what it did.
The header reads O H L C V for whichever bar the cursor stands on. With no cursor it reads the last one. Drag to move through time. Scroll to open the window.
The settings
All of it lives behind the gear, top right.
- BTC ETHAssetWhat the search is about.
- 5m 15m 1h 1dScaleThe bar size the chart is drawn at.
- 4 8 12 16FoundHow many past moments to return.
- 5m 15m 30m 1hRefreshHow often to ask again. The answer moves as the bars close.
- percent shapeHeightWhat a line’s height means. Shape divides each moment by how much it swung in its own window, which is the axis the engine matched on. Percent is the plain move from T.
- below besideAlikeWhether the precedents stand under the chart or next to it.
- on offEventsReleases marked on the chart and in the list.
- 5m 15m 30m 1hWindowsWhich windows the search compares.
- 72 144 288LengthHow many bars one window is.
- model shapeAlike byWhat “alike” is measured on. The scale you draw at does not change the answer.
The shelf
The search reruns every few minutes and the tail of its list turns over. Pinning freezes a moment so the answer gets scored instead of replaced. The shelf is where those live.
- Pin allKeeps every moment on screen. What follows is measured against them.
- The flag on a tileKeeps that one. It fills in once the moment is on the shelf.
- On the shelfThe thick line is now. The thin ones are what you kept. Zero is where each was pinned.
- ForgetTakes them off. It asks once first.
What it does not do
No forecast. No score. No direction. The answer is what the past did after moments like this one, and what was knowable at each of them. Nothing is carried backwards.
The overview has the rule in full. Coverage has what can be asked.
