There are no accounts, and no trackers

Reading this site needs no account and sets no cookie. There is no analytics script, no advertising pixel and no third-party tag of any kind — nothing on these pages reports your visit to anyone.

A few things are stored in your own browser, all of them about how you like the page laid out: the light or dark theme, the width of the list beside the comparison and the height of the chart above it. They never leave your device, nothing on the server can read them, and clearing your browser data removes them.

What is kept

An API key's owner. If you ask for a key we keep the email address you wrote from and what you said you were building, so that we can answer you and can tell you if the key has to change. The key itself is kept only as a one-way hash — we cannot show it back to you, and a copy of our records would not reveal it.

What a key called. Each API call is recorded as the key's identifier, the path, the time and the status. Not your address, not your query's contents, not anything that identifies a person beyond the key. It is how we know whether anyone is using the service, and how a limit could be applied.

Ordinary web server logs may hold an IP address briefly as part of serving and protecting the site. They are not used to build a profile of anyone.

Who else sees it

Nobody buys it, and nobody is given it for their own purposes. It is held by the companies that run the servers and, when payment begins, by the payment provider that processes it — each only to do that job.

We may disclose something if the law requires it. If that ever happens we will say so where we are allowed to.

How long

A key's record is kept while the key exists and for one year after it is revoked, so that a question about past invoices can be answered. Call records are kept for two years. Anything held for longer by law is kept only that long.

Your rights

You can ask what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, ask for it to be deleted, or ask for a copy. Write to [email protected]. Deleting a key's record means the key stops working.

Depending on where you live you may also have the right to complain to a data protection authority — in Korea, the Personal Information Protection Commission.
